With a world-famous rooftop garden, numerous premium lifestyle brands, and many celebrity chef restaurant outposts, Marina Bay Sands is synonymous with all things luxurious. One wouldn’t immediately associate this scenic waterfront establishment with affordability. However, little did we know that many of the restaurants at MBS have exciting lunchtime promotions, which means you’ll get to sample the very best culinary creations without burning a hole in your wallet. In addition, enjoy complimentary parking with a minimum spend of $75++ at any of these signature restaurants.
What should I have for lunch ah? If you are as fickle and indecisive like us, then a buffet ($56++ for adult weekday lunch, $62++ for adult weekend lunch) with extensive offerings at RISE will certainly cover all bases. In the mood for some freshly-shucked oysters and sashimi sliced upon order? Load up your plate at the seafood station with all the freshest catch.
The best flavours from our regional neighbours are also rounded up here, with signature dishes like the ayam percik in tangy peanut sauce that is marinated for over 24 hours with candlenut, turmeric, and other herbs, or the barramundi baked in salt crust, using only regionally-farmed Kühlbarra barramundi seasoned with dill, lemon, fennel, and coriander seed, and baked in a thick layer of salt for two hours to yield a crumbly soft fish. Work off some of the buffet weight by taking a stroll in the RISE herb garden, where edible plants are grown and used in the many dishes presented at the buffet line.
After which, you should have plenty more room to stuff yourself with their decadent prawn laksa, or have a go at concocting your very own soda, with various syrups and fruit garnishes for a drink made just for yourself.

db Bistro & Oyster Bar
No prizes for guessing that oysters are a huge part of db Bistro’s menu, but you will be pleasantly surprised at Daniel Boulud and his masterful French treatment towards other items on the menu, using seasonal catch and fresh ingredients.
Take the Steak Tartare ($30++/$45++) for instance. It features USDA prime sirloin, cornichon, capers, and parsley – all delicately prepared tableside. It’s a dish that will be devoured in mere minutes, from prep to dining table, and straight into your mouth.
Another popular item that makes an appearance on most tables is the Maine Lobster Roll ($40++), and it is easy to understand why, given its generous lobster chunks and diced avocado served atop a fluffy homemade buttery brioche roll. As tempting as the rest of the items are on the menu, you will want to save some space for their signature desserts.
Our favourite has got to be the Baked Alaska for Two ($20++). Instagram-worthiness aside, this flaming dessert from the rum flambé comes loaded with tropical flavours from coconut sorbet, pineapple sorbet, and pandan genoise. Equally vibrant is the Le Tropical ($18++), with mango variations, coconut gelée, and passion banana sorbet.
Coffee Napoleon ($18++) is another safe bet, with the timeless pairing of coffee and chocolate from praline variations, dark chocolate cream, and gula melaka ice cream to create a bittersweet end to your meal (we sure were sad when we reached the bottom of the dessert bowl).

The Bird Southern Table & Bar
You wouldn’t expect to dine with your hands in a place like The Bird Southern Table & Bar, or anywhere in MBS for that matter. However, there’s no better way to enjoy what they have to offer, than to tuck in with your bare hands. Their Executive Lunch runs from 11am to 4pm on weekdays ($40++), and is a great way to savour some hearty Southern cooking.
Start with either the Deviled Eggs or Fried Green Tomato & Crispy Pork Belly, and get your fingers ready to dig into their Lunch Set Special with two pieces of Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken, chilled Spiced Watermelon, and house-made Classic Buttermilk Biscuits.
With an addictively crispy batter and moist chicken meat, our plates were left with only bones in no time. Their watermelon helped cleansed our palette, but was quickly replaced by the Fried Oreos we got as desserts. With house-made marshmallow, crushed oreos, and vanilla ice cream, a trip to The Bird Southern Table & Bar will have you leaving the place feeling completely satisfied.

Bread Street Kitchen
This celebrity chef requires no further introduction. Gordon Ramsay is known for his sharp tongue, so you know that your appetite will be in good hands at Bread Street Kitchen. They have a two-course set lunch that goes for just $40++ (a three-course set goes for $48++), and a scenic waterfront dining location that make mealtimes here a steal.
Choice of starters include a rocket salad with beetroot, feta cheese, and quinoa, and the ham hock and cranberry croquette with wild garlic mayonnaise, celeriac, and apple salad. The cured salmon with avocado purée, and zesty notes of oranges, was a clear winner.
The same fresh and bright flavours were also found in the pan-fried sea bass, zucchini noodles, and fennel sauce that we tried for our mains. Other choices include the grilled Iberico pork T-bone with colcannon mashed potatoes and gravy, and the pan-fried parmesan potato gnocchi served with fava beans and green asparagus. We ended our meal with the addictively tangy lemon posset with double chocolate shortbread.

For a meal with a view, the 57th-floor Spago by Wolfgang Puck should be high on your priority list. Alongside charming views, they have an attractive Express Prix Fixe Menu (three-courses for $45++) running from 12pm to 245pm daily.
Don’t miss the Chicken ‘Laksa’ Spring Roll, which is an interesting spin on our hawker favourite, with flavours of calamansi, chilli padi, and laksa leaf encased within a crunchy exterior. Other starters include the Pan Seared Pork Dumplings served with a spicy black vinegar sauce, garlic, and cilantro, or the Heirloom Pumpkin Soup perfumed with cardamom cream topped with some savoury pumpkin seed granola.
Their mains take a more classic approach, with familiar flavours prepared in exquisite ways. The Grilled Angus Beef Burger came with in impressive portion of beef patty grilled to the perfect doneness, and was sandwiched between aged cheddar, onion marmalade, and brioche buns. We would love to try the Steamed Red Snapper with bak choy, choy sum, lotus root, sweet soy, and lemongrass-scented jasmine rice, or the Soft French Omelet made with field mushrooms, gruyere cheese, and served with fingerling potatoes and arugula salad.
Dessert was a Coconut-Passion Fruit Trifle with tropical sweetness befitting of the panoramic views.

If anything, the eclectic interior of David Myers is a good representation of Adrift’s forward-thinking menu. Timber fixtures, industrial finishings, and overhanging swing sofas help create a unique and intimate dining experience perfect for bosom buds. Especially evident in their take on modern Asian dishes, these dishes are meant to be shared.
Like the Big Eye Tuna Tartare ($14++) tossed with wasabi mayonnaise and served on some crispy rice nigiri, which is a playful take on the usual Japanese sushi, or the Baby Japanese Sweet Potatoes ($12++) served with bacon and salted plum creme fraiche – a version we very much prefer to the standard potato salad.
The Roasted Young Chicken ($30++) with lemon miso paste and burnt lemon might not be the easiest to share, but you won’t want to anyway after a bite of its addictive umami glaze and tender meat. Skewers like the Pork Collar ($17++) and Glazed Ox Tongue ($16++) are perfect accompaniments to their masterfully crafted cocktails.
The Broken Meringue ($16++) is also worth breaking your diet plans for. Kyoho grapes, rose cream, and yuzu sorbet make for a refreshingly sweet-tart combination that we can’t get enough of.
